Description
In a black and white universe, one sees opposites and competing choices: good or bad, up or down, right or wrong.
Yinyang philosophy offers a subtler perspective: something can be both, neither, everything and nothing all at once. It is a contemplative, non-dualistic path to experiencing an interconnected world.
It is finding the rainbow in a palette of black and white.
The yinyang view is mapped beautifully to the Yijing, an ancient symbolic alphabet that renders the universe through 64 uniquely yin and yang combinations.
Not Just Black or White presents this timeless yinyang-based system to the modern reader, inviting them to rediscover age-old Chinese wisdom in the present day.
Part philosophy, part visual meditation — this is a book to return to again and again, through all of life’s seasons.
